Bread with hemp flour: here is the recipe for making it
As is customary in any good recipe, before discussing the bread preparation, let’s see what ingredients are needed, assuming you have to make bread for four people. Before putting your skills as a cannabis-friendly baker to the test, you will need to procure:
- 450 g of type 0 flour or, if you prefer, wholemeal flour;
- 30 g of hemp flour;
- 1 teaspoon of salt;
- a glass of water;
- some extra virgin olive oil;
- 1/2 cube of brewer’s yeast.
Contrary to what you might think, the procedure is quite simple; however, to obtain an appreciable result, it is essential to follow the various steps precisely. The first of these is bringing the dough to life. Start by dissolving the yeast in warm water. Then pour the flour, salt and water with the dissolved yeast into a bowl and mix everything until a compact, homogenous dough is obtained. You will now have to wait about an hour for the dough to rise, which should take place at room temperature. The ideal solution is to cover the dough with a cloth and place it inside the oven (turned off, for now). After this time, the dough will have doubled in volume. After a short second of kneading, place it in a baking tray and let it rest for another 30 minutes. Heat the static oven to a temperature of 200° C and, after coating the surface of the dough with a bit of olive oil, put the baking tray in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes. To maintain a good level of humidity, it is recommended to place a container with water in the oven. After half an hour of baking, you can take your hemp flour bread out of the oven and, after letting it cool, enjoy its unique, unmistakable taste.
